My Only Ambition
Some of the best advice I have ever received was that one’s only ambition in life was to be happy and nothing else matters. When you look back on your life, you will regret only what you didn’t do. You don’t want to look back one day and realize the things you could have done and achieved.
Design Hack
Paint everything the same color as the ceiling, like your skirting boards and door frames. It will make the room so much bigger and cozier. I learned that hack from one of my favorite designers, Abigail Ahern. I also like to layer a lot of different textures and mix patterns. A pop of color always adds fun to a room.
The Only Design Rule I Follow
I have at least three different colors in the room—a dominant shade, a secondary and an accent color. I don’t like when everything is too matchy. The more colors and textures, the better.
Transforming A Room
Color is everything. You can completely transform a room with a bit of color, and it’s the easiest and cheapest thing to do. For me, dark colors make the rooms look magical and cozy and like a place that I never want to leave.
If I Had To Design A Room In One Color
It would have to be an earthy color. I really like pale pink at the moment. I would use lime paint to give the room a raw, laid back look and would use natural accessories for decoration. I collect tree branches when I am out walking my two labradors.

My favorite designers and accounts are Abigail Ahern and Rockett St. George. They can work their magic on any room, and they are both lovers of dark and cozy interiors. They are also very approachable and supportive. Instagram is a great way to get in touch with designers and creative people and to express your ideas and vision.

Something I’d Never Have In My Home
I am a huge animal lover and would never have real fur or animal skin in our home. There are just so many great alternatives out there that look like the real thing.
