Keeping Flowers Fresh

My tip is about cut flowers—any time you remove a cut flower from water, always cut off a little piece of the stem directly before placing it back to water. That will maximize the flower’s water intake and help it to last longer.

What’s Your Story?

I was born in Prague and relocated to the Netherlands 12 years ago through my work in the IT sector. What was supposed to be a two-year work experience turned out to be a new life path. I fell in love with the Netherlands and met my husband here, with whom I have two wonderful girls.

Slow Living Essentials

For me, slow living is about doing things that are important to me and that make me joyful. It is spending time with people I love and I can be 100 percent myself with. Having a demanding corporate job, I treasure and crave such moments deeply.

Self-care + Wellness

A moment on my own and silence can do wonders for me. Generally, I believe in eating well, listening to my body and balancing busy times with periods of calm. Yoga and meditation are powerful tools for me during demanding, busy times. I try to have one morning a week (typically on Sunday) when I can sleep a bit longer and can drink coffee in bed—having two small children and a busy job, such a moment feels like a special treat.

True Beauty

Beauty is whatever makes us feel well, joyful and ourselves, and what helps others feel that way too. Beauty is being able to live life according to our own terms. Beauty is trying to make positive impact, no matter how big or tiny, on people around us and the world—every single day.

The Necessity of Creativity

I am a passionate cook, love reading, yoga, traveling and spending time with my husband and our two girls. Creativity is so important for me; being creative with photography and flowers is what makes me happy.

My Photography

I use only natural light for my photography and like to work with interesting textures to create my photo compositions. Through photography I share my love for flowers, nature and color, hoping to inspire and connect with people all around the world.

Flower I Love

Tulips Tulips will continue growing in your vase; they will bend and twist to grow towards light.

Great Advice I’ve Received

• Embrace challenge

• Do not limit yourself

Creative Idea

I Love Styling flowers according to Dutch masters’ paintings.

What I Love About The Netherlands

I love the abundance of fresh flowers all year round, Dutch masters, museums, beautiful historical cities and vicinity to the sea.

One of My Greatest Lessons

Trusting my own intuition. Most of the time, we know the right answers.

Winter Essentials

Flowers, candles, warm blanket and a good tea—for me, that would be herbal, green or ginger tea.
