Tea + Gardening: My Daily Self-Care

One small thing I do every evening – I drink a cup of herb tea. These herbs are from my garden or from the forest. My fav are forest thyme and maple flower tea. Tea cleans my organism before sleeping. My garden is transformational to me. My roots are in the country, my grandparents were farmers and I have. Gardening gives me a lot of activity, good emotions, quality products and objects for my photographs. I grow flowers too. I created a source of happiness to myself. This garden is not big but the satisfaction it gives to me is huge. It’s a kind of therapy for my body and for my soul.

What I Wish I Had Known

How it’s important to talk to your grandparents. I wish I talked more with my grandma and grandpa more. Of course we talked but I was too young to ask things I am interested in now. About their lives, feelings, expectations, experiences and families. I’d like to ask my grandpa what was that feeling like when he walked home the last kilometers through his childhood forest after he was released after 12 years imprisoning in Siberia. And many many other things.

Wisdom From My Grandpa

“Do not regret of doing good.” And these are the words of a men who spent 10 years in Norilsk labor camp as a political prisoner and two more years not having permission to come back home to Lithuania.

Do not communicate or communicate as little as possible with the people in whose company you feel bad, do not waste yourself on this.

Savory Smoothie


o 100 g almonds and sunflower seeds

o 1l water

o 500 ml chopped: spinach, green lettuce

o 1-2 avocado (peeled, pitted) o 1 cucumber (chopped)

o Handful basil

o Juice of 1 lime

o Juice of 2 lemons

o 1,5 tsp sea salt

o ½ tsp ground black pepper

o ¼ tsp cayenne powder

o 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

o Lemon slices to garnish


• Place the ingredients in a blender and process until the mixture is smooth. Adjust the amount of water, spices, and salt to your taste. Garnish with lemons slices, basil leaves, some drops of olive oil.

Sweet Smoothie


o 2 banana

o 2 avocado (peeled)

o 2 handfuls spinach

o 1 tbsp maple syrup


• Place the ingredients in a blender and process until the mixture is smooth.
