Repurpose, Repeat
Buy something that will last your whole life. Don’t buy crap. If something has been here 50 years, you can be sure that it will be ok for the next 50 years.
Our Peaceful Country Home
I used to live in Helsinki. It is the capital of Finland. I always dreamed about owning a house with a porch and garden with apple trees. When we moved to the countryside, my dreams came true. I just love our cute old house.
Vintage Bohemian
I love mid-century style, especially midcentury furniture. Teak furniture from the ’50s and ’60s is my passion. So my style is thrifted and DIY with a little boho touch.
Caring For Our Garden and Home
Our old house and garden are quite big, so there is so much to do all the time. We don’t have problems figuring out what to do with our free time. Our house and garden need us.
Sustainable Decorating
We have bought almost everything from thrift shops and flea markets. I love to decorate in an ecological way. I don’t want to buy new stuff, and I also think that old furniture is higher quality than new furniture. My Vintage Treasures I collect vintage coffee cups made by Arabia Finland. I also have a big collection of Finnish glass.
My Design Inspiration
I love to see when someone turns trash into treasure. Finding Treasures in Unexpected Places Keep your eyes open wherever you are. You never know what kind of treasures are waiting for you.
Favorite Home Accessory
Our vintage cat TV was a great idea. Our cat loves it, and people all around the world love it. It is so funny to watch “cat programs” on the TV.
Adding a Pop of Color
Don’t be afraid to use colors that you love, because colors make people happier. If you have some old pieces that you don’t like anymore, consider painting them with your fav color. Be creative. Wallpapers are quite expensive, but you can also use it on furniture—for example, behind a glass cabinet. You can also check the local dumpster groups, etc.

Slow, Mindful Living
There is no reason to hurry all the time. It is more important to relax and enjoy life.
Balancing Home, Work and Creative Passions
I work in my salon four days a week. The other three days I take care of my house and garden. I also write an interior blog, Keltainen kahvipannu, and I also take lots of pics every day. Taking pics is my way to relax.
Creative Inspiration
I have been a hairdresser for 20 years. That is work where you can be creative. I also love to talk with people. Nowadays, I also love to take pics and write my blog. It inspires me a lot.
Lesson I Have Learned
Be nice to everyone you meet. Don’t get angry if people are mad at you. Just forget them.
