“You miss 100 percent of the chances you don’t take.” Everyone has probably heard this quote some time or another, but I really do live by this. I think logically and reasonably, but I also follow my heart and take chances, especially when there’s nothing to lose.
Don't Be Afraid to Change it Up
If something isn’t working for you, try something else! When I first started my content-creating journey on Instagram and blogging, I thought for sure since I’m a mom that I was supposed to be posting mommy things. After a while, I realized that I wasn’t growing that way. I really felt pinned down to motherhood, and I feel like there’s just so much more to me than that! I started posting more plants and home decor content, and I finally feel like I found my niche, and I started to be excited about posting again.
Design Idea I Love
Are plants a design idea? Ha! Never too many plants.
Most Instrumental Life Advice
“Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.” Seems so obvious, but not always. Sometimes I even find myself thinking, wow, their career is growing so quickly, and they are so much more accomplished than I am. Then I realize, hey, they’ve been at this way longer. It’s like comparing apples to oranges, and it’s not healthy for anyone. Have a clear vision of what you want, work hard and you’ll get there.
Tips for a Productive Work Flow
Get an early start, have an organized, dedicated work space and write a to-do list or use a planner.
Layering Patterns, Textures, and Colors
Layering textures and colors throughout your space with rugs, throw pillows and blankets can bring a pop of color to your space (especially if you like white or neutral-colored walls like me) and makes it more visually appealing. A combination of plants, throws and some vintage pieces makes a space feel cozier and more lived in.
