What’s Your Story?

Carlos and I have been married for almost 14 years, and we have four amazing kiddos (Dylan, 12, Emerson, 10, Beckett, 8, and Peyton, 5). They are all the motivation and inspiration behind House of Six Interiors. I love to create spaces that evoke feelings of warmth and love. Other hobbies include gardening, reading and working out. I have been gluten-free for four years, and eating a plant-based diet for two years. It has changed my life, mindset and overall health.

Creating Your Sanctuary

For me, a nurturing space includes a lot of natural light—the first thing I do when I wake up is pull up all of the shades in the house! I also love to have music playing at all times. Candles and essential oils help create a warm and soothing space. And I need to be organized—whether that is cleaning up the kids’ toys or having all of my work details organized.

Great advice

Honestly, it’s as simple as “always stay true to yourself and treat others well.”

Life Philosophy

A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset. When you wake up, take a second to think about what a privilege it is to simply be alive and healthy. The moment we start acting like life is a blessing, I assure you it will start to feel like one.

Adding Open Shelving to the Kitchen

I love the look of open shelves in a kitchen. My husband was wary about them initially. The key is they have to be functional. We use everything on our shelves on a daily basis. There is no time for anything to get dusty. Mix in a couple of pieces of art and you have the perfect shelf styling.

Shopping Small

There is something really special about supporting a small business. Online, I find a lot on Etsy. I have found great small shops through Instagram. Locally, I love No. 165, Perch Home, Meus and The Merc. Designers I Love Oh, there’s so much talent out there! Right now, I love Leanne Ford, Studio McGee and Amber Interiors.
