Every woman is beautiful and extraordinary, each one has to know this. We must not feel inferior in any way.
Craft I love
During my bachelor’s degree I attended a course of printing technologies where I discovered the silk screen. At the time I didn’t think much of it, maybe because I wasn’t mature enough but recently I understood the power and the wonder of this old print. I love the manual process and the texture which it creates. My boyfriend gave me a silk screen for Christmas and I’ll certainly make illustrations with it.
Any advice you have for creatives or entrepreneurs?
Express yourself and whatever you want, work hard and put all of yourself into every work. There is no key for success, just be yourself and believe in what you do.
Any advice on self-care and wellness?
Not accepting myself was a huge limit. Now I am happy with myself. After I have struggled with my defects, I recognized them as my strengths. The only advice I can give is to love yourself, no matter who you are. Once you love yourself, you are ready to love others.
What is beauty to you?
Beauty is extremely personal, as I see it is in the eyes of those who look at you. Beauty is the perfect balance between your body and your mind. Since I was a child, I had been seeking for perfection but growing up I understood that it doesn't exist. My works are a reflection of this thought because the imperfections have become the beauty themselves.
One of your greatest lessons?
At school when I was teenager my art teacher hated me. I don’t know why. It was a difficult time because I didn’t believe in myself. In trouble I think that this is the greatest lesson of my life. Young people must not give up or feel insecure. Young people have to believe in themselves because in life nothing is impossible.
Great advice that you’ve received?
The best advice I have gotten is to look at the everyday life and the world below from other perspectives. To go against the logic, invert, destroy and rebuild the world as we imagine. In this way I can observe myself and what is around me with different eyes.
